Hi,

do you use onboard SATA controller ?

I'm using onboard controller.

Drivers are directly in my kernel (2.6.35).
Here are some information from my system, maybe it helps you.

DMESG:
scsi0 : ata_piix
scsi1 : ata_piix
ata1: PATA max UDMA/100 cmd 0x1f0 ctl 0x3f6 bmdma 0x480 irq 14
ata2: SATA max UDMA/133 cmd 0x170 ctl 0x376 bmdma 0x488 irq 15

Looks like it using ata_piix driver from kernel.

LSPCI:
00:1f.2 IDE interface: Intel Corporation 82801EB (ICH5) SATA Controller (rev 02)

If you have some questions don't hasitate contact me throught contact form on www.vojcik.net.

Hi, my problem with the change is that the sata drivers are not recognized. I'm using a certified IBM sata backplane and cables.Linux recognized the intel sata controler, but no sign of the drivers. Do you have any sugestions.
thanks.

Hi Robert!

Thank you for a great posting. Your script really helped me. I will use LVM and LVM snapshots and tried the Writeback feature. But I never got the "flush-dirty-blocks-from-cache-to-disk"-feature to work. Instead I used Writethrough and your script.

Again, thank you.

Regards
Davor Vusir
